AVG Anti Virus
This is the anti virus that I recommend instead of the big companies like Norton, McAfee, Trend and CA. The program is small and effective, unlike the others that use RAM like it was unlimited, therefore it does not slow down your machine. Download the FREE version, and use it weekly. I have found that the paid version has some problems.

NOD32 Anti Virus by ESET
This anti virus program is highly recommended by gamers. Although it is NOT FREE, it has low overhead and does an excellent job of protecting your system. Download the 30 day trial version, and test it out. If you like it keep it and use it weekly.
